Knife Attacks

Knife attacks teach students how to defend against an attacker with a knife.  Techniques teach defense against a straight in thrust, overhead strike or slashing side to side motion.  Each technique focuses on stopping the initial attack and gaining control of the wrist/arm the knife is being held by.

Once control is established (immediately upon attack), students unleash a devastating counter-attack designed to incapacitate the attacker.  For each style of attack, there are 2 techniques taught to provide the best resolution for our students and the worst possible outcome for the attacker.

Students are trained to remove the weapon, if possible, and retain it to prevent it from being used against them.  Some dojos teach handing the weapon back to continue practicing, this is not taught in the PaSaRyu system as it conditions the students to return the weapon to the attacker in a real world situation.
